Since our founding, Girl Friends has been dedicated to fostering lasting bonds, uplifting our communities, and celebrating the joy of true friendship.

From a bridge club in 1966 to becoming the first Deep South chapter of The Girl Friends, Incorporated in 1971, the Atlanta Chapter’s journey reflects resilience, friendship, and service. Our story is one of growth, purpose, and legacy.

Founded in 1927 during the Harlem Renaissance, The Girl Friends, Incorporated has grown into one of the oldest and most respected African American women’s organizations in the nation, with 45 chapters and a legacy of service and sisterhood.
